The blonde girl reaches forward and touches the back of Rictors head, fingers resting lightly at the base of his skull. “[You’re right. No thrumming…you feel solid.]” Gwen poked the back of his head experimentally and drew back her hand, satisfied. “[Yep. You literally are earth. Its kind of strange but pretty cool too. Woah, wait you could have your own center of gravity!]”
"[Didn’t think so.]" He sat there as she poked at the back of his head before turning back to her. "[How exactly would one test for their own personal center of gravity? I don’t think I’ve ever heard about how to do that before.]"
"[What? No! I wanted to feel the back of your head. If you could feel the earth than maybe it would thrum or something…]" Gwen trails off, finally just shrugging."[Nevermind. And I bet you have. I’ve met a lot and I’ve only been here a few months so far.]"
"[I don’t think I’ve ever heard that before. If you really wanna check, you can, but I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t thrum or anything… if it does, I don’t know about it.]" He grinned. "[It’s okay. And I just got here, so I don’t know if I’ve met any yet.]"
Gwen nods when he speaks and reaches up a hesitant hand. “[Can I feel?…]” She blushes at Rictors statement and draws back her hand a bit. “[I’ve always been interested in genes. It used to be biomedical in general, but biogenetics are my chosen field. Learning about mutants…]” She shakes her head in a little bit of wonder. “[You’re so individually amazing. Its fantastic.]”
"[You… want me to make an earthquake for you?]" He wasn’t entirely sure how he felt about that. Last time he had made one for someone else… He shook his head and turned back to her, still smiling. "[I wouldn’t really know, I’ve never met any others. Or at least, not that I know of. Maybe I have, who knows.]"
Gwens eyes widen and the scientist in her personality kicks into high gear. “[Is it like, a mental awareness or you can sense it under your finger, or-]”
"[I can feel it all the time, if that’s what you mean. It’s just sort of always there in the back of my head. Everything that’s moving, I can sense it.]" He laughed. "[You’re very interested in this.]"
"[Really? Wait no way, honestly?]" She scoots close to him on the bench, eyes bright. "[How does it work? ]"
He laughed, grinning at her as she slid in closer. “[No idea how it works. I’m a mutant, it just sort of… I can feel the plates shifting, the whole planet moving right now, and if I concentrate, I can control it and make it move the way I want it to.]”
[World domination is in our grasp, Rictor. Its so close I can taste it.]
[Science! I’m a nerd, honest and true. I’m not specially gifted like most of these people are.]
[Well, if it will help with the world domination at all, I have earthquake powers.]
[Look at us older kids, man. Using pig latin to torture our fellows.]
[Nice to meet you Rictor, I’m Gwen. Pleasure to meet you.]
[We’re gonna end up taking over the school, aren’t we?]
[So what’re you here for, Gwen?]
